IT’S THE SECOND COMING!
Okay, not in the religious sense, but YES, THE STONE ROSES are coming to town! It’s been a dream for many fans here, and in July that dream will be realised as the “classic band line-up” – Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani (aka Gary Mounfield) and Reni (aka Alan Wren) – make their Singaporean debut gig.
In October, Ian Brown proclaimed that the band were “ready to take the world by storm”. Their first two shows in the UK sold 150,000 tickets only 14 minutes after going on sale. Will there be Stone Roses fever here too?
I don’t see why not. After all, we still remember songs like She Bangs The Drums, I Am The Resurrection, Fools Gold, I Wanna Be Adored and Waterfall. And that’s only the tracks from the first album.
But we’ll have to wait until April 12, when the tickets go on sale.
