AND NOW, the news…
Award-winning Malaysian singer Gary Chaw will not be coming to Singapore next week as originally intended. He was supposed to be here to promote his latest album, Supermarket.
This news comes about a week after Gary and Hong Kong singer Justin Lo were seen duking it out in the streets of Hong Kong. This wasn’t a film set, there were no classy Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Sammo Hung or Jackie Chan moves – just a straight-out drunken punch-up.
What the tabloids left out, though, was who actually won the fight. I’m putting my money Gary, because he’s fairly fit, but Justin is no pushover. I guess we’ll never know, because they apologised to each other, and as you know, once you apologise, you can go around bragging how you whupped someone upside the head.
Still, the incident apparently shook him so much his management decided to not risk travelling to Singapore.
“At this current situation, the management would want to give him sufficient time and space to stabilise his mood before he is able to resume back his work again,” it was mentioned in an email, with sources adding that he needed to “rest a bit”.
I understand. I guess an all-out brawl can leave you rather exhausted. Well, I have one word for you, Gary: Berocca. It’ll put the b-b-bounce b-b-back into you. Then you can come to Singapore. Just be careful, the police here don’t take kindly to rumbles in the streets.
