So there’s three of us in the room at the Park Hyatt in Sydney sitting across Jack Black, JB, Jables, the dude from The D… who’s looking a little embarrassed. Mostly because when we walked in he was making dinner plans. “Here you are and I’m talking about what food to eat!”
But we soon settle into the interview… ‘cos you know, he’s in this movie called Gulliver’s Travels.
WHAT do Flight Of The Conchords, Spinal Tap and Katy Perry have in common?
Well, not much… at first glance. But if you’re a fan of Tenacious D, then you’d want to start praying that the D’s new album will hit platinum here and Katy Perry will agree to open for them, so that they’ll come to Singapore. Or so said Tenacious D’s co-founder Jack Black, aka Jables, aka JB, when I spoke to him in Sydney, Australia – where he was promoting his upcoming movie, Gulliver’s Travels.
He’d also like to get FOTC, ST and TD together and do a “Monsters of Comedy Rock” tour – another way to get them to come to Singapore.
Anyone willing to take up the challenge??? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? For now, this is as close as this Singaporean got to him…
