Strange ways here we come…

(OMG! He's throwing up a cloth rag and a mic and a... oh wait.)

EVER so often you read these stories about rock stars and the weird things that happen to them (“He did what to whom? With a Mars bar?”). And most of the time we shrug it off without much thought (“Yeah, he would do that, wouldn’t he?”).

But this has got to be one of the strangest news pieces I’ve read in quite a while. And it’s not even a rocker from the US or UK or one of those far-flung jurisdictions. It’s someone from across the Causeway – a dude by the name of Awie, who just so happens to front one of Malaysia’s biggest rock outfit, Wings. (Don’t tell Paul McCartney, okay?)

But this story, man, it’s so out-of-this-world that when you read it, you can almost hear Ray Manzarek’s haunting organ riffs in the background, as Jim Morrison’s echoey voice calls out in the distance: “Strange days have found us…”
