Cheating Sons head into the great wide open

WELL, kind of.

When we first heard the Cheating Sons, I was pretty sure these guys would be heading places if they played their cards right. And now they are, literally.

Yup, the Singapore quartet will be trundling to South Korea for Asia Spotlight, a two-day event that is part of the bigger Incheon Pentaport Music Arts Festival. Their slot is on Sep 18, so if you’re in the area – that’s the Bupyeong Art Center in Incheon – and want to listen to some good music, go check this one out. Temper, temper!

Aussie-now-living-in-London band The Temper Trap popped over as surprise guests at the press con announcing next year’s Laneway Festival. But apparently will so much jabber on the Net about it, no one was really surprised when 987FM DJ Roz announced their names. (Actually, a lot of “see I told you” went on.)

Anyway, here are some pics from their performance at 987FM and the New Asia Bar. “This is the highest place we’ve ever played an acoustic set – 70 floors up!” they said. Then someone said, “It’s 71 floors.” There’s always someone, isn’t there?
