Reform Party (RP) secretary-general Kenneth Jeyaretnam arrived at the Elections Department this afternoon and declared: “We are confident we will be the first Opposition to win a GRC.”
He told reporters he had collected five group representation constituency (GRC) and two single member constituency (SMC) nomination forms. He also submitted four minority certificates.
Mr Jeyaretnam said that the party is all ready to stand in West Coast GRC but will be considering other GRCs and single-seat wards too. “Every constituency should be contested,” he said.
He stressed RP will not field candidates in areas where three-cornered fights could take place.
