Greetings and salutations, fellow star gazers! This is May Seah, your Showbiz Sista, bringing you the juicy details of the upcoming new Channel 8 drama, Precious Babes.
The babes in question are Ann Kok, Eelyn Kok and Cynthia Koh, three very different women who also happen to be best friends. Oh, and there’s an actual baby too.
The tot is supposed to be the child of Cynthia and her husband, played by Alan Tern. Cynthia takes the kiddie to an audition for the casting of (the fictional show) Nanny Daddy 2, and she lands the lead role. That’s the role of lead baby, not the role of Adrian Pang.
Qi Yuwu gives new meaning to the phrase “bad hair day”
Meanwhile, Eelyn Kok plays a director, who’s chosen Qi Yuwu as her leading man. He turns out to be not very good though, so she yells at him a lot. “In real life, big stars don’t get yelled at by the director!” Yuwu protested. Neither do they get to grab the director’s boob, as Yuwu had to do in a scene where Eelyn trips and he catches her—in a somewhat inappropriate fashion. “She really enjoyed it!” said Yuwu, speaking for Eelyn, who pointedly refused comment. Haha.
The studly Zheng Geping also stars as the husband of Ann. “Working with Ann is really enjoyable because she’s such a professional,” he said. Also, “She’s a sex goddess. So there’s a lot of pressure on me and I have to be careful.” Oh my. What on earth could he possibly have meant by that? Showbiz Sista has no clue.
Geping continued, “There was a scene of her holding the baby in which the camera was behind my head and I knew my eyes couldn’t be seen, so I just stared at her, riveted by the sight of her, because she was full of womanly charm. I couldn’t take my eyes off her.” O_o
The loving couple
Just to remind us that he’s still very much a family man, Geping added, “There was a similar moment when my wife had recently given birth to our daughter, too.” Oh, indubitably.
Catch Precious Babes starting June 9, weekdays at 9pm on MediaCorp TV Channel 8. Showbiz Sista, signing out. Live long and pop corn!
