CLIFhanger

Greetings and salutations, fellow stargazers! This is your Showbiz Sista turning up the anticipation levels with some very authoritative men and women in navy blue.

C.L.I.F. is an upcoming MediaCorp TV Channel 8 cop show about the men and women of the police force. The letters of the title stand for Courage, Loyalty, Integrity and Fairness, which are the core values of the Singapore Police.

A lensing ceremony was held on Wednesday to mark the beginning of filming.

C.L.I.F. stars Tay Ping Hui as a veteran cop teamed up with a rookie, played by Chris Tong. The drama leads up to a climax at a World Security Summit held in Singapore. Joanne Peh, Qi Yuwu, Andie Chen, Jade Seah, Tracy Lee, Rayson Tan, and even Romeo Tan all get to play police officers. Also starring Rayson Tan, May Phua, Priscelia Chan, Aileen Tan, Adam Chen, and Desmond Tan.

This drama aims to be the most realistic police-themed drama ever made, and to achieve this, the production team is working in close collaboration with the Singapore Police Force. The storylines are based on real cases, and the actors had to undergo training. Isn’t it cool that actors get to pick up all kinds of eclectic skills?

“We went through orientations on procedural practice, because we’re carrying firearms and we need to be qualified,” explained Ping Hui. “The main difference between this and other cop shows is that the Singapore Police Force is fastidious about getting the details right.”
