Actor Chin Han joins new US series

You might have spotted him in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight as Lau, and in other movies such as 2012 and Contagion, on top on a short stint on sci-fi TV series Fringe and a huge role on Masters Of The Sea – now Singaporean actor Chin Han is set to hit the gogglebox in the new US series, Last Resort.

Last Resort features a story of a submarine captain who turns renegade when asked to fire nuclear missiles at Pakistan, and as a result becomes an enemy of the state. Chin Han will play a Chinese ambassador, Mr Zheng, who attempts to negotiate with the captain.

Interested viewers will also be able to catch Chin Han soon on HBO Asia series, Serangoon Road which was recently filmed in Singapore.

Hot guys! Who cook!

Greetings and salutations, fellow stargazers! This is your Showbiz Sista, who was on a super special, super important mission last night at the fabulous launch party for Diva Universal’s new, er, “infotainment” show, Hot Guys Who Cook. It’s about — go on, guess — hot guys. And they — wait for it — cook. No wayyy.

Anyhoo, three of the Hot Guys who turn up on the show as themselves and show you how to cook their favourite dish were there, resplendent in all their Hot Guy glory last night, and it was a ‘live’ cook-off amongst Nat Ho, Paul Foster and Henry Golding.

Other Hot Guys featured on the show include Jason Godfrey, Utt, Bobby Tonelli, George Young, Keagan Kang, Shane Mardjuki, Tom Price and Brendon Fernandez.

So, yes, what was Showbiz Sista’s Mission Important last night? Why, to go in search of hot abs, of course. What else?

It took some convincing, quite a bit of wheedling, and a little emotional blackmail to get these three very modest Hot Guys to flash us some of their hotness, but, hey, the success rate ain’t bad, if Showbiz Sista does say so herself. Check it out! And try to keep your cool!

Catch Hot Guys Who Cook starting June 25 at 9pm on Diva Universal (StarHub TV Ch 522). Showbiz Sista, signing out. Live long and pop corn!

Scooting with The Noose (day 3)

OUR third day in Sydney with Pornsak and Barbarella from The Noose turned out to be nicer than the previous day, if only because the sun was shining. It was still cold, mind you, but at least it was brighter and our spirits perked up somewhat. Of course, having to be at the Sydney Opera House at 7.45am isn’t quite a cakewalk, but hey…

Scooting with The Noose (day 2)

IT was up, up and away on Day 2 as we Scooted with The Noose. Up  to the Blue Mountains, that it. It’s called The Blue Mountains because the vapour produced by the eucalyptus trees makes the mountains look blue from a distance. And it had nothing to do with the fact that everyone was blue with cold, as temperatures reached a high of 7 degrees Celsius!

As clouds gathered around us, creating a rather mysterious effect, Barbarella and Pornsak bravely took their places for the shots, braving the cold and wet weather with the kind of professionalism only, er, professionals such as they can produce. Continue reading ‘Scooting with The Noose (day 2)’

Scooting with The Noose (day 1)

So the new Singapore airline called Scoot has finally taken to the air with its inaugural flight from Singapore to Sydney. And Barbarella and Pornsak Sukhumvit from The Noose went along to commemorate this momentous occasion. And here are the pictures to prove it!
