Good news for SingTel customers: the telco has rolled out a host of goodies for the Chinese New Year holidays. Hot off their press release:
Singapore, 20 January 2012 – Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) today announced that it will celebrate the Lunar New Year holidays with 48 hours of free local mobile calls, SMS and MMS, as well as $1 mio TV blockbuster movies from 12.00am on 23 January to 11.59pm on 24 January. SingTel will also offer 88 hours of free Chinese entertainment from the mio TV Jingxuan Pack from 8.00am on 21 January to 11.59pm on 24 January.
The free calls, SMS and MMS can be enjoyed by postpaid mobile customers and will not be deducted from the free bundled minutes and SMS included in their current service plans.
Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, SingTel’s Executive Vice President of Digital Consumer, said: “The Lunar New Year holidays are a time for reunions, renewing relationships and relaxation for all. With free calls, SMS, MMS and great TV entertainment, we hope to help our customers to catch up with family and friends and celebrate the occasion.”

StarHub will not be offering free calls, SMS or MMS, but they will be providing free viewing of their mobile TV channels for mobile subscribers for a whole week, from Jan 20 to 26. StarHub Cable TV channels will also be free to view during that period.
M1 will not be offering free services during the period, but they are holding several promotional and festive deals such as the “Sure-Win” Lucky Dip where new sign-ups/re-contracts for mobile and broadband services or purchase of kit bundles will entitle customers to win cash or prizes from BlackBerry, Nokia, HTC, Motorola, Acer, ASUS, etc.
