The British Pathe newsreel archive has just uploaded “Paneful Business”, a newsreel about window cleaners working on the Empire State Building in 1938. The iconic 102-storey skyscraper has 6500 windows, which were cleaned by attaching a harness onto ‘eye bolts’ aside each window.
