Science correspondent Alok Jha of The Guardian examines the controversial theory that the ancient Maya civilisation predicted that the world will be destroyed on Dec 21, 2012. He speaks to Mayan expert Professor Elizabeth Graham at the British Museum about the idea’s origins and if it has any scientific validity.
