Science correspondent Alok Jha of The Guardian examines the controversial theory that the ancient Maya civilisation predicted that the world will be destroyed on Dec 21, 2012. He speaks to Mayan expert Professor Elizabeth Graham at the British Museum about the idea’s origins and if it has any scientific validity.

The video was created by Keith Loutit, a  Sydney photographer and filmmaker who is into transforming cityscapes into miniature wonderlands, and one of the pioneers of the tilt-shift and time-lapse technique.

Lingerie brand Triumph celebrated its 40th year in Singapore with a preview of its Autumn Winter Collection, at the historic Alkaff Mansion restaurant in Telok Blangah.

Most people of all ages have all heard of Gangnam Style, a South Korean rap that’s gone viral – I’ve even heard stories of mothers asking their children if they’ve heard of it (and then performing the moves). And what better way to celebrate Singapore’s birthday month than to come up with our own local version, which quite a few enterprising people have done. The one on top’s the extremely well shot and lip-synced version by videography company Toxipen that features a Korean lad walking (Gangnam Style) around Singapore. Local vlogger Dee Kosh also has his own version, this time taking the effort to give the lyrics more of a Singaporean flavour.
